Pacific Environmental Services Co. is hiring **Laborers and Apprentices** who are ready to work hard, learn a specialized trade, and grow with our company.
We are a family-owned fuel systems contractor with over 30 years in business. Our work includes fuel station construction, underground and above-ground tank installation, fuel piping, repairs, environmental services, and commercial construction support.
Experience in the fuel industry is a bonus, but it is **not required**. We are willing to train the right person.
This is a good opportunity for someone with construction labor, jobsite, dirt work, concrete, mechanical, or general hands-on experience who wants to build a long-term career in a skilled trade.
## We Are Hiring Immediately
This is our second round of hiring in recent months to keep up with company growth. We are looking to add at least **two more motivated workers** to our field team.
Because our work is performed throughout Western Washington, being based in Port Townsend is not required. We are open to hiring qualified candidates from other areas in the region.
## What We’re Looking For

Construction experience is preferred, but the most important qualities are dependability, work ethic, willingness to learn, and the ability to work safely.
## What You’ll Be Doing
Jobsite work may include, but is not limited to:
* Jobsite cleanup, sweeping, organizing materials, and debris removal
* Digging by hand and/or assisting with machine excavation
* Jackhammering concrete with hand tools or equipment attachments
* Handling, measuring, cutting, fitting, and gluing fiberglass pipe
* Handling, cutting, and fitting steel pipe
* Assisting with concrete forms, rebar, and basic concrete work
* Shoveling and spreading gravel, dirt, concrete, and other fill materials
* Moving parts, tools, and equipment around the jobsite
* Assisting crews with fuel system construction, repairs, and installations
* Supporting jobsite setup, safety, and production
## Skills You Can Learn
This position gives the right person the opportunity to learn how to safely use and work around:
* Standard hand tools
* Small power tools and construction equipment
* Pipe saws, pumps, generators, plate compactors, jumping jacks, jackhammers, chipping guns, rotary hammers, clay spades, drills, and saws
* Air compressors, arrow boards, rollers, gas testers, fire extinguishers, and other jobsite equipment
* Backhoes, loaders, excavators, skid steers, cranes, and other heavy equipment
* Fuel system construction materials, piping, tanks, fittings, and related components
You do not need to know all of this on day one. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, take instruction, and grow into the work.
## Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to safely perform physical construction work, including:
* Working outdoors in all types of weather conditions
* Standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and stooping
* Walking and working on uneven or rough terrain
* Climbing in and out of excavations, manholes, and confined or enclosed areas when required
* Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, loading, and unloading tools, equipment, and materials
* Wearing and maintaining required safety equipment
* Performing physical jobsite tasks for a full workday
## Government Work Requirement
Some of our projects take place at military, government, or secure facilities. Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check and meet site access requirements when necessary.
## Requirements
* Construction, labor, dirt work, concrete, mechanical, or jobsite experience preferred
* Experience working outdoors and performing manual labor preferred
* Familiarity with basic hand tools is helpful
* Reliable transportation required
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
* Must have favorable background check results
* Must be willing to travel throughout Western Washington
