BIG, BOLD and very BEAUTIFUL. Labradorites remind me of a NIGHT SKY emblazoned with Northern Lights. These are natural
hard gemstones. One of my favorite stones.
This necklace has such magnificent dazzling stones, that I hang it on the wall like art, lol. Really a stunner and a great conversation piece. You will not be disappointed. It is very comfortable to wear.
I bought it as having sterling silver and have not had it tested. The silver now has plenty of PATINA/TARNISH on it since it has been exposed to air after the pics were taken. I leave polishing up to the new owner.

The Inuit peoples claim that Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, as an ordinary stone that transforms into an extraordinary gem that shimmers with a mystical light. It is said to be excellent for awakening one's own awareness of inner spirit and intuitive abilities.
It was first discovered in Labrador, Canada, by Moravian missionaries in 1770 who named it for the area. It is, however, referenced in legends by older Inuit tribes, and was known to be in use by the Red Paint people of Maine for over a thousand years. It became a popular gem in Europe in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
