Detroit 3-71 engine
engine runs well.
high/low range transmission, with 3 forward speeds + reverse in *each* range.
has tilt wheels, hydraulic mouldboard/blade, scarifier (may be one mismatched or missing tooth?), cab, heater, windshield wiper... but any of the electrical accessories might need work.
it starts reliably and the alternator charges!
it was originally a Navy purchase (see last photo), and he was told that in its early life it was used on the ALCAN Highway.
what's wrong with it:
the windshield, etc. is out- but unless you're planning on using it in Minnesota- it's much easier to use without glass in the way.
it could use at least one tire. all of them are older, but only one has some sidewall damage.
it's ugly (but hey, that's part of the charm).
