Ramulus is a mature, pure-bred, Katahdin ram. He is gentle with his ladies and easy to handle. I have used him as herd sire for the past several years and he produces a consistent lovely crop of lambs (time for me to get new genetics however). He is not registered, but both his parents are registered with Katahdin Hair Sheep International, Inc and I have copies of their registration papers and pedigree. He tested negative for Johne's, CAE/OPP, and CL several years ago and has been in a closed herd ever since. He is readying, willing, and able to service your ewes this fall!
Katahdins are a hair sheep breed that sheds their coat each spring so no need for shearing. They are "easy keepers", parasite resistant, and the meat is sweet and lean without the gaminess of some wool sheep breeds.
Also available are:
Stormy and Panda - pure but unregistered Katahdin ewes, easy unassisted lambing of twins+ each year
Thunder - mostly Katahdin with a little Dorper mixed in (black ewe in group pics)
and something completely different.....
Congo - purebred Jacob ewe with 4 symmetrical horns and a lovely fleece (last pic is of her in full fleece), easy unassisted twin lambs every year in the cutest imaginable color patterns.
Jacob sheep are an ancient heritage breed listed as threatened by the Livestock Conservancy https://livestockconservancy.org/jacob-american-sheep/
