Available immediately here in Sequim are the "Two-Pack of 4'x4'x11" Garden Beds with square foot planting grids," manufactured by Vita in Tennessee, USA.

We have ONE BOXED SETS stored in our garage: it is new, sealed, dry, safe, and protected. Most of these available elsewhere online do not include the grids. That is an included extra. The grids needn't be used, but are distinctive and useful for certain applications, and really assist with 'Square Foot Gardening.'

The 4'x4' units can be assembled as TWO separate planters as shown in the drawings and diagrams attached. Or the sides can be rearranged and made into ONE 4' x 12' planting bed. Of course, if you purchase multiple units there are numerous other arrangements. One of the attached diagrams from Vita shows that.

These units are presently available for sale at the company (wearevita.com ) as a SINGLE 4x4 unit for $99 plus tax/shipping. The price here is $65.00 with no 9% tax for TWO units.

Cost.com is presently out of stock of the planters with "square foot gardening" grids. Every available supplier online sells these products at 25% to 45% higher than the $65.00 per double set we are asking. A few other online sources sell just a one-pack for $70. The two-packs for sale are at least $50 higher than here. And, none of those online suppliers include the grids. Of course, the grids are option, and you could utilize them elsewhere if you wish.

In our garden in Sequim, we have put together one set of two units to form our 4' x 12' planter. We use that for our strawberry bed.

This size planter is ideal for strawberries and vegetable plants that don't require deep roots. It
is perfect for plants like carrots, radishes, lettuce, green onions, peas, onions, cucumbers, squash, and beans; also, most herbs. Because they sit on the ground (not enclosed like a container) the roots have far to reach, the worms can easily investigate, and the plants won't dry out as quickly as container-planted produce.

From the Vita website:
"Compost Household Waste and Grow Fresh, Organic Vegetables in the Same Garden.

"Food Grade Bpa and Phthalate Free Vinyl to Grow Food Safely and with Confidence

"20 Year Manufacturing Warranty Against Material Defects"
www.wearevita.com

At present, we have ONE new, boxed, sealed, double 4' x 4' (or single 4 x 12) raised bed kit available for sale at $65.00.
