I have always had a riding mower, so this was only used as a detail mower (mostly edges) where I lived over 7 years ago. Since, I've taken to my girlfriend's to mow a postage stamp lawn in her backyard. Starts usually with one pull but after running for a while and I shut it off to empty the bag, it will not start until I let it sit for a while. Fuel issue I suppose. I couldn't get it going and also lost a small spring. Looks rough because never had inside storage. Good strong mower. I'm 87 and can't mess with it anymore. If you can't get this to run, bring it back and I'll give you your money back.
Last photo shows what it looked like new.
"The John Deere JS38 is a highly popular walk-behind, self-propelled mower equipped with a 190cc (6.75 ft-lbs gross torque) Briggs & Stratton engine. Designed for residential use, it features a rugged 22-inch deck, rear-wheel drive, and 3-in-1 capabilities (mulching, bagging, and side discharge)." This is JS35, mine is JS25 with same specs.
