Jefferson County Public Works seeks an Engineer III or IV. This full time (40hrs/week) position applies professional and technical expertise to deliver capital projects including wastewater facilities, roads, trails, bridges and stormwater infrastructure. Duties include development of plans, specifications, and estimates, legal and technical research, consultant and grant management, and construction management and inspection. A working knowledge of federal, state and county policies and regulations is highly desirable.

Engineer III: Pay Range: $42.46/hr - $50.74/hr (7 steps) DOE; Bachelor’s degree in civil/mechanical engineering, architecture, or a closely related field and 4 years progressively more responsible civil, traffic, or mechanical engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Engineer IV: Pay Range: $44.58/hr - $53.26/hr (7 steps) DOE; Bachelor’s degree in civil/mechanical engineering, architecture, or a closely related field and 7 years progressively more responsible civil, traffic, or mechanical engineering experience. OR equivalent combination of education and experience. P.E. required.
