USPS 44-cent Seabiscuit envelope with “Walkway Over The Hudson” located partially over the stamp. The envelope was created October 4, 2009, the day after The Walkway opened and not mailed.
The Walkway is a former railroad bridge over the Hudson River, built in 1889, and unused from the time it burned in 1974 until its reopening. It extends from the Poughkeepsie side to the Highland side. Or from the Highland side to the Poughkeepsie side. Take your pick. Either way, it’s the “Walkway Over The Hudson.”
The envelope was not mailed or otherwise used. It’s in new condition with only a slight smudge on the flap, likely from when “Walkway” was stamped on the front.
