"Mystery" is a “fast cruiser” designed to cruise and sail the world. She is a great liveaboard boat, too. Spend your summer in the Islands!
This boat is not one of those mass-produced boats which are now reaching their age. "Mystery" is solid, dependable and reliable.
I love how warm it gets with the forced hot air diesel heater! Come see her at John Wayne Marina in Sequim.
She has many new upgrades. She is sailed regularly! ("A boat that is used stays healthier than one that sits.")
The CT-38 was one of Alan Warwick’s, famous New Zealand naval architect, designs to safely cross the Tasman Sea. Mystery is a sleek, fast and stable mono design intended for open ocean cruising and extensive coastal cruising. Mystery has a very smooth, gentle motion that is very desirable on passages.
Mystery is easily single-handed and is a wonderful offshore vessel capable of coastal sailing and around the world. Fast? For you racers who like a little comfort, she has a New England PHRF base handicap of 159 with a racing handicap of 168 and a cruising handicap of 180. Safe and sturdy. Just take a look at the heavy duty deck cleats, the hull strengtheners (molded in ribs and longitudinal strengtheners). The hull is solid fiberglass. The interior is teak planked overlay (for comfort, moisture and heat control). In her build, the hull to deck joint and fastenings used inward flanges, glassed in place. She has watertight bulkheads built with plywood, fiberglassed tabbed in place.
You will not find a nicer vessel in better condition at this price.
This Alan Warwick design, CT 38, is extremely suitable for fast cruising to any sailing area you wish to choose. The CT 38 has a very spacious interior with excellent headroom (6'+) and long berths will surely be appreciated. Although her lines seems classic, her performance is certainly not. That is why she is interesting for those who wish to cruise in- and offshore.
