A 27’ X 21’ trimaran weighing only 1150 pounds with the outboard. This boat was built as the ultimate minimalist trimaran for its size. The builder John Staudacher has built 50 racing hydroplanes, four race cars, and 35 aerobatic aircraft. His next-door neighbor is Jan Gougeon of WEST epoxy fame.
I purchased this in 2024 to race in the WA 360. I performed many additions and several upgrades. A movable bowsprit to fly a spinnaker and a code zero sail (included). Added trampolines. The main and jib are carbon racing sails by North. It comes with a cruising and racing centerboard. This is a very fast boat; it accelerates like no boat I have ever sailed. I have hit 14.7 kn on a close reach. It's amazing how well it moves in light air. The five-horse Honda (only 30hr) will push it at seven knots at half throttle.
Just crossed the Strait of Juan de Fuca to race in Friday Harbor 1.7 gal for 34mi. One WA360 pedal drive and trailer with a mast erecting tower are included.
