If you are looking for a pretty simple living situation and have any of the skills/interests listed below then please contact us.
We are looking to rent a 1 (kinda 2) bedroom cabin that sits on 7 acres next door to where we live on 13 acres. Most all the acreage is heavily wooded. The cabin is well built but definitely still a cabin. It is off grid, which means electrical use is always a consideration and the heat needs to come from the wood stove. I would say that someone that is away from home most of the day may not be a good fit for winter in this cabin. Also, if you like your space constantly 75 degrees or such you'll probably be much happier in a small apartment in town. It has a fully functioning bathroom and kitchen. You can not treat this like just any other rental, but it can be totally comfortable. I would say the layout probably is not ideal for a family but the right people could probably make it work fine. We have 2 young children on the property next door. There is a small enclosed shop with a covered area surrounding it that could be used for storage and projects.
There are many projects around the property. Most would require some handyman/carpentry skills. Work could be in exchange for rent or paid outright depending on circumstance. There is also another small cabin on site that is currently not really utilized because it needs a new roof, so again having carpentry skills to help with that type of project is a plus.
We operate our 13 acres as a small homestead. We also have a fully operational butcher shop. It would be wonderful if the renters have interest in participating in homesteading life and/or butcher work. There is lots of space to join in on some of our projects or try things on your own.
Preference will be given to folks with any of the below skills:
-Carpentry/Handyman
-Butchery/Slaughter/Livestock
-Homesteading/Farmsteading
